Kansas City Art Institute - Surface Design Association - Missouri Fiber Artists Event

An Invitation to all MOFA members:

You are invited to a fun & collaborative Surface Design Association and Missouri Fiber Artists regional meeting and free event to be held at the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) Fiber Department Building on Sunday, February 19, 2023, from 1 pm - 4 pm. You are welcome to invite an interested non-member guest.
An alternate date in case of weather cancellation is February 26, 2023.

This meeting will be a co-sponsored gathering with members of Kansas and Missouri Surface Design Association and Missouri Fiber Artists. Also in attendance will be KCAI Fiber students, staff & alumni. Two KCAI alumni will be presenting and demonstrating their work and a current student will be showcasing the TC-2 digital Jacquard loom now housed in the Fiber Department.

It will be enlivening & beneficial to be able to interact between emerging and established artists in a professional setting, and have the opportunity to become aware and discuss new thoughts in the fiber field. Representatives of MOFA will also present information regarding several recent, successful collaborative projects and exhibitions the group has organized. Representatives of SDA will also present information regarding their organization and opportunities. A fun surprise activity is planned!

The SDA Swatch collection will be available for viewing at the meeting as well, and will be juxtaposed by sample work by students doing junior level course work. Samples of SDA and MoFA membership materials will be on display. We hope you will be able to attend this worthwhile event!
